GCC Energy Consulting
The investor's strategic partner in the acquisition and delivery of renewable energy projects. A pipeline of 750+ projects / 30+ GW, a proprietary due diligence methodology covering 42 areas, and screening that comes before any project is put in front of an investor.
Who we are
GCC Energy Consulting is the investor's strategic partner in the acquisition and delivery of renewable energy projects on the Polish market. Brokerage is one element of that model, not its definition: we run the investment mandate, the market screening, the transaction process and the subsequent stages of project delivery. We work with infrastructure funds, IPPs, developers and industrial groups on both sides of the transaction.
A pipeline of 750+ renewable projects across six segments (utility-scale PV, BESS, wind, hybrids, data centres, biogas/biomethane) totalling over 30 GW. Geography: 95% Poland, with particular activity in the Dolnośląskie, Wielkopolskie, Pomorskie, Łódzkie and Mazowieckie voivodeships. Five operating bases (Warszawa, Poznań, Katowice, Polkowice, Łuków) mean that contact with the developer and site inspections happen locally.
How our model works
The model covers projects we present to an investor from our own pipeline under an agreed investment mandate. The sequence is fixed: screening and verification across 42 areas first, presentation only after that. Every project closes with a GO or NO-GO recommendation. A project carrying a NO-GO recommendation does not enter the client's investment process; a project carrying a GO recommendation enters it together with the full analysis file.
The mandate does not extend to projects nominated by the investor from outside our pipeline, to due diligence commissioned as a standalone service, or to analysis going beyond the agreed framework. We carry that work out as a separate engagement, on an agreed scope and fee. The detailed terms of cooperation, including remuneration, are set out in the contract.
The essence of the model is the sequence: we filter the market before a project enters the investor's process. As a result, the number of projects an investor can realistically review stops being a function of the capacity of their own team.
What we do
- Buy-side investment mandate - sourcing, screening and market selection against the investor's defined criteria
- Sell-side mandate - representing developers in the sale of projects (PV, BESS, wind, biogas)
- Due diligence across 42 areas - a proprietary methodology (regulatory, technical, financial, operational, legal, IT) closing with a GO or NO-GO recommendation
- Transaction structuring - from term sheet to SPA, with coordination of advisers (legal, technical, tax, insurance)
- Regulatory support - URE licences, grid connection conditions, local zoning plans, the 10H rule
- Post-closing stages - financing, offtake and PPAs, development, EPC and construction supervision
- Cable pooling - structuring the agreements between owners of installations sharing a single grid connection
What we do not do
We deliberately do not cover technologies where we lack hands-on knowledge of the Polish market: hydrogen, geothermal, pumped storage, offshore wind, SMR. We take on onshore wind selectively, aware of the constraints created by the amended 10H rule. We do not sign a sell-side mandate without exclusivity, and we do not promise the "best valuation" - we promise a competitive process in which the valuation is set by the market.
How we work
Every project runs in a single system - a dedicated VDR, the 42-area DD checklist and a full audit trail of document access. First response to an enquiry within 24 business hours. A buy-side acquisition process can close within 30 days for projects that meet the required process criteria. A full sell-side mandate: 9-11 months to closing (median, for projects of EUR 10-50m).
The team that gets to know a project during the analysis and the transaction stays with it through the later stages of the engagement. Closing ends the acquisition phase, not the relationship: what is known about the project, its risks and its assumptions does not disappear with the signature.
Partners
Project delivery is supported by a network of technology partners - EPC main contractors, Tier 1 technology suppliers (PV modules, inverters, BESS) and partners in automation and electrical solutions. On the investment side we work with infrastructure funds, industrial groups running an active PV pipeline, and brokerage partners in Poland and the wider CEE region.
